| World Cup Brazil - Schalke England - Plymouth Germany - Inter France - Brum Spain - Madrid Portugal - Charlton Greece - Inverness Poland - Gornik Norway - Wimbledon Argentina - Napoli Italy - Watford Belgium - Fulham Holland - Ajax Serbia - ManCity USA - Cosmos Uruquay - Blackburn I think that worked out pretty well with most people getting their first or second choice teams. Should be a really good competition this season. Special thanks to Tom though for choosing "anybody" Nobody chose Uruquay but a few of you did miss out on teams because you didn't pick an alternative to your first choice, feel free to let me know if you want to be considered for the Uruquay job. Copa America Columbia - Brum Bolivia - Celtic Chile - Plymouth Jamaica - Schalke Paraquay - Charlton CostaRica - Soton Mexico - Fulham Peru - Arsenal Venzuela - Paris A lot of you missed out here because everybody wanted Columbia or Chile and only a few gave alternatives, not so many good teams here though so understandable really. World Youth Cup SpainU21 - Barcelona ScotlandU21 - Rangers ItalyU21 - Inter RussiaU21 - Juventus FranceU21 - Plymouth WalesU21 - Palace EnglandU21 - Charlton EireU21 - Bayern BrazilU21 - ManCity BelgiumU21 - Inverness GermanyU21 - Schalke PortugalU21 - NorthernIrelandU21 - Wimbledon DenmarkU21 - HollandU21 - Ajax ArgentinaU21 - Napoli Internationals Wales - Plymouth Turkey - Stuttgart Scotland - Rangers Russia - Juventus Denmark - Etienne Bulgaria - Gladbach Croatia - Inter Iceland - Wimbledon Romania - Barcelona Georgia - Dortmund Czech - Celtic Austria - Soton NorthernIreland - Wycombe Eire - Palace Switzerland - Charlton Hungary - Cagliari Sweden - Banstead Ukraine - Schalke Iceland - Wimbledon Finland - Blackburn I'll make the group stage draws tomorrow I expect.

| And so it begins ......
The Premier League
Man City v Charlton The champions launch their title defence at home to one of the teams who has done most to strengthen over the post season. City are mainly relying on the players who delivered such a glorious treble last season with Dzeko leading the line and Joe Hart between the sticks. We may see more of fringe players this season as Geoff tries to make up for Lampard and Gerrard's weary legs. The visitors on the other hand have had one of the most impressive transfer campaigns of any team. Suarez, Emre Can, Yaya Toure, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Lallana and Mamadou Sakho have come in to add to the talent already in place like Dave Luiz, Henderson, Willian, Coutinho, Walcott and Sturridge. This is a squad to rival any team of galacticos. An interesting first game with the City machine facing a team with more tasty choices than a box of Quality Street. Can Tom get his players to gel before Christmas? Can Geoff weave his magic and breathe life into a midfield with a combined age of 256? A clash of two teams who could be facing off for the Champions League final in 20 weeks time!!
Leicester v Newcastle We have 2 promoted teams facing off in this match. Mark has followed the first rule of Championship Football and found a structure and players that work and stuck to it. A defence centred around one of the world's best defenders in Jerome Boateng, ably supported by Vertonghen and Seamus Coleman and shielded by Matic lets the attacking talents of Barkley and Lukaku do the damage. It's not for no reason that Mark finished 4 points clear of Cup finalists Arsenal and 9 clear of 3rd placed Leicester. Leicester have it al to do to stay in the top flight. They have some spots of quality through the team but is it enough to stay up with the big boys? A lot will depend on Demba Ba ..... worried Foxes fans?
Chelsea v Fulham The west London derby ..... Mourinho's Blues up against Phil's Michael Jackson inspired Cottagers. Chelsea have lost the guile of Oscar but have brought in the power of Falcao, the silky skills of Di Maria and the defensive skills of Felipe Luis. It could be a tough season and again a lot will depend on a key forward so Falcao will need to step up to the mark. Phil has strengthened cleverly with Schweinsteiger, Tevez and Silva being the hub around which his team will rotate. Losing both full backs may have raised a few eyebrows but Fabio and Kyle Walker should be good replacements. It certainly looks like a much happier season for Fulham this time out .... top 3 is not beyond them (or 6 other teams to be fair).
Birmingham v Plymouth Do the huge games ever stop coming? Rich's team of Fergie exiles host last seasons runner up. Daley Blind, Rojo, Medel and Jovetic have swollen the talented ranks at Brum and face their old team alongside such stalwarts as Fellaini, Nani and van Persie in what appears a very exciting Birmingham side. Plymouth, as with many of the top Premier League teams, have added exceptional quality to an already formidable squad. Ramires, Benteke, Welbeck and star addition Ramsey could possible have made Ben's team the best in the game and the one to beat, however the loss of Ozil and Di Maria may mean a struggle for creativity.
Watford v Spurs London's giants (The Hornets) face off against the paupers from White Hart Lane. One of the most interesting questions in all of Championship Football has to be can Jamie win the League with arguably the best squad ever put together (Tom, Iain and Ben are also up there)? Bale, Alexis, Diego Costa, Kompany, Pogba, Rooney, Kane, Depay, Eriksen, Lloris, Stones and more. Is this their season? Spurs ..... will go down.
Man U v Arsenal I expect United to struggle and alongside Spurs I felt LVG's team got weaker as last season progressed. This will be a real acid test with last seasons losing Cup finalists coming to visit. Ozil, Schneiderlin and Nasri will add a bit more quality and nobody will enjoy the trip to the Emirates this season. Arsenal to get Alan off to a flyer now he's back in the big time. |

He did float the idea this morning but his mother heard him. She's the responsible parent. |

| St Johnstone 1 Celtic 0 Ronaldinho freekick on 4 minutes
It's official Ronnie has just overtaken Maradona as the all-time top freekick scorer in CF history, very fitting in his last competitive season. |

| Corinthians 0 Flamengo 1 Muller on 10 minutes.
Great start for the Champions, Muller is way too good for this league, I can see him tearing defences apart if he doesn't move back to Barca. |
