I actually think that Birmingham's win against Plymouth is the biggest result f the week.  On the other hand it is only week 1 and we have a long long way to go. And when Plymouth bring Sterling in they'll be even stronger ....

WILSON DENIES CRISIS AT PLYMOUTH


Media reaction from Plymouth's first game of the season has spurred manager Ben Wilson to launch a fierce rebuke. In his post match comments, Wilson pointed out that Plymouth are traditionally slow starters and that given the number of changes at the club he is not concerned.

'We have worked hard over the past few weeks in securing a number of new signings and now have a core of the most exciting British stars - Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Raheem Sterling (who is due to be transferred in this week), Aaron Ramsay, Callum Chambers, Saido Berahino (who will remain with Roma for the time being).

This is alongside world class talent in Sergio Aguero, Ramires, Benteke and Peter Cech, amongst others. The squad is going to need some time to gel together but not only do these signings secure the future of the club but provide flexibility in tactics and lineup to ensure we can battle on all fronts'.

He warned those that are writing off Plymouth's chances to be wary. ' We have traditionally always been slow starters and two years ago lost 2-1 to Birmingham away but ended up as Champions. The Premier League has become more and more competitive over the past few seasons but am confident with this squad we have the opportunity to go all the way.'

Fighting talk from Wilson who also added (on Roma's performance) that 'I'm disappointed not to take anything out of the game against Inter having been 2 nil up, but not surprised. I thought if the game went to 2-2 our boys would tire and I was right. Some promising signs though for the future of the club.'
