I agree entirely here - there has been a big change in emphasis away from the TM as a focal point which makes team's rely less on one player and mixes things up a bit.

Although saying this if you look at Kaka at Schalke and Higuain at Inter who seem to be banging in the goals from TM (and Rooney in Europe) - hence the question above to Paul, is it just in England that these changes are having such a great effect?

Absolutely not just in England. The main change I've noticed is at Betis. Ganso is the TM, Busquets the AM and normally Ribery and Krasic the DY's.

Busquests used to exclusively pass to Ganso.. who then did whatever he liked..

Now Busquets passes to all of them, and Ganso's interaction with the DY's is a lot higher. It makes it much more interesting to see the moves develop for me
