Paul, am I right in thinking the format has changed this year for Europe due to a fewer amount of groups? Is it top two go through to the quarters? Or just the winners going through to the semis?

If the chairman is peeved then the fans are certainly happy at Newcastle with their side sitting top of the table with five wins and a draw in the first six games and loooking very solid, and so far, not a peep out of Balotelli ?

Top two qualify from the groups this season.

Players at Sevilla have asked the boss to sort out their wage structure with some players earning less than they should be earning. On the field of play the new defensive formation seemed to click much better this week and resulted in a clean sheet at home to Deportivo.

Highly rated youngster Ryan Bertrand returned to Chelsea this week following his loan spell at Blackpool as per the league rules concerning the continuity of loan deals. Loans cannot exceed 8 weeks in length and players must return to their parent clubs before they can be loaned out again, even if its back to the same club. So Blackpool will need to find a suitable replacement for Bertrand for next week's game because he wont be able to return to themuntil after next week's game. if that makes sense ?

Chelsea are chasing Gary Cahill and boss Gary Ward has offered a third of his war chest to get his man but it remains to be seen if he will join them or not. Liverpool have tabled a large £20million bid for Luis Suarez but he is unlikely to move, and the reds have also tabled a large £12million bid for John Arne Riise, one the chairman seems tempted to accept, although the manager seems reluctant.

Sampdoria have a few problems on the horizon with the chairman having to hide everytime a european week comes round and with complaints about unrest concerning wages things arent all rosey in Turin. Still an improvement this week in their away form seems to suggest things are improving.

A clean sheet again for Inter in Europe with a slightly different line up. Lloris is likely to get a run in the first team and it could mean 99 99 rated Julio Cesar is available. Also 451 seems to be working better for the slow tactic than 442, so Higuain on the bench and a run for Cambiasso.

Kyle Naughton is unhappy at Birmingahm, it seems that amidst the furor of Sergio Aguero's arrival his name was completely missed off the teamsheets, and he wants to know why. Their chairman is also up in arms about the number of players not being used and this is really important to your club as a whole as it effects club morale which effects players on the pitch in all your games, even cup games, which are usually immune to morale effects of individual players.

Man City have made a bid to sign Andy Carroll which includes cash of £20millions plus oldman Drogba as well as promising youngsters Vladimir Weiss and Dedryck Boyota and Tottenham have offered £12millions cash for Scott Parker. It will be interesting to see how Birmingham keep all four top class strikers happy once Danny Welbeck turns 22.

Gremio have a similar problem to many of you that of too many players not playing, other than that, a testimonial for one of their longest serving players was well received by the players and morale took an upturn despite poor league form of late, all culminating in a fine away win this week.

Leicester loaned out the highly promising Frank Fielding to their feeder club Real Betis but poor wages are still biting away at club morale, but despite this the first t eam were superb this week with an away win at Elland Road, mostly down to the sublime form of playmaker Michael Carrick, a fact that has not gone unnoticed at Old Trafford, although their offer of £12millions is unlikely to tempt Leicester boss Rich Medley into parting with his jewel. Bolton are chasing Leicester's Kevin Davies and have offered £2millions cash. Carrick is a real star in this team as he performs well despite having no competition for his place in the team.

Rasmus Elm is not happy at the moment after being left out of the Real betis team this week and the chairman has the "chairmans problem" as im now calling it, of too many players on the books. However despite having too many players the club are looking to bring in Madjid Bougherra for £2millions. Season ticket sales are going well and betis were unlucky not to win this week after creating six very good chances only to find the Bilbao keeper in good form.

because some of you seem to be ignoring the squad size limits at your feeder clubs and using them as a dumping ground for players I may have to address this at some time in the future and create a closer link between squad effectiveness and feeder club squad effectiveness.

We should have a debate about this on a new thread.

Plymouth grab the highly rated Joao Carlos on a trial basis but have trouble with their assistant manager, who was seen visiting a stars house while the player was away from home. The club may need to investigate that.

Andres D'Alessandro has been quoted as saying " since arriving at the club I am surprised at how weakly the manager urges players to tackle on the field, we seem like a powder sometimes".

Lyon grabbed the permanent signature of Aly Cissokho under stern competition from other players so boss Ben Wilson must be pleased about that. But his chairman also has the "chairmans problem" here at Lyon.

Lyon's cup game didnt go well with the lack of goal mouth action put down to the wrong tactics, you really cant play MIX without a playmaker unless you have a Rooney in the team to make up for the missing playmaker.

Nevertheless a hatrick of league wins had fans out painting the town red and white.

Overspending at Watford has caused the bank to enforce a spending embargo on the club for next week. This means they will not be able to spend any money next week on players, staff or buildings etc. The chairman has that "chairmans problem" and would like to see players moved on anyway, so maybe now is a good time to try and do just that.

However a £20millions cash bid from Tottenham for Adebayor is unlikely to be accepted and a swapbid with Everton involving Joe Cole and Mikel Arteta will not be able to progress next week because the club cannot sign new players when they are under a spending embargo.

The club will also miss out on signing Per Mertesacker next week for the same reason and with Leon Osman, Moussa Dembele and Niko Kranjcar all unable to gain a starting birth things arent looking good at the moment for Watford.

Ancona alos have the "chairmans problem" with a host of players unable to play and they too need to address this problem soon, although a superb win this week at home to Juventus was acclaimed by the fans. Looking behind the result is not so rosy though as the team only managed one shot on goal thanks to Totti's fine playmaking skills in the MIX tactic, so at least that is right.

Ive just checked the "chairmans problem" to see why so many of you are being infected with it this week, and it turns out ive not included the players at your development academies in the list of excluded players. Some of you maybe getting the message in error, basically if you have more than 25 players not in your academies you should take notice of it, if not then it will not appear next week and i will reset any morale handicaps applied this week because of it if its done in error. apologies for that.

Love the after match thoughts and your input into whats going off at other clubs gives us all a bit of perspective that others have problems to deal with too and what managers might be open to cash bids due to cash flow problems or be willing to let players go due to disgruntled stars not getting regular football

Brilliant

That's pretty much what I see each week sitting here in the office so it was great for me to transfer some of that drama to the forum as well. Ive never been able to do it before because Ive always run the CF system on a stand alone machine, but now Ive got this supercomputer with split/multiple screens that can run multiple operating systems I can do it and I shall try to do each week from now on. It cheers the week up a bit.
