| Hi Guys,
Im thinking of maybe returning to the game. Not sure. I have sent Stu a message asking if any decent sides are worth a look at.
Cant beleive my little girl turned 1 a couple of weeks ago which means i have officially been away from the game a little longer than this!
I should be around on the forum over the next couple of days if anyone fancies a chat or has any advice on teams.
Like i said, im only thinking about it at the moment and its not 100% that i will return.
Ross. |

| hi mate,
good to see u about again.
Things have changed a wee bit in ur absence, theres lots of relaity managed team which have replaced the once human managed teams, ie city, spurs, blackburn, boro etc are now managed by the likes of mancini, scolari and robson.
has been helping to keep the leagues semi competitive although i still think they could be a little more active in seeking players they have certainly been a big bonus to the game.
I think this coupled with the fact that a lot of forum managed clubs seem to be at a stage where we have built up a semi decent starting 11 means that deals are a little harder to come by (all in a good way of coarse)
If it was me starting again id find a none top flight side that still have a few assets that mean u could build up as your own. i think ull find it more fun doing more little deals here and there and putting your mark on a club than having to do one maybe two massive deals just to slightly improve a top club.
thats just me but i think it would be a nice way of getting yourself back into it.
As im finding out the premiership is a very unforgiving place and no manager can afford to go into a club in the prem and expect to be able to tinker and unsettle their side at this stage of the season and not struggle which would equal no fun.
Hull are 2nd in the championship and as of this minute have some good assets still from when matt left.
maybe sunderland as well? |

| Hi Ross,
Good to see you on here again.
Got to be honest, with your dilemma, it seems to me you have already answered your own question.
Your heart obviously says come back, but your head is saying it won't last and you won't be able to put sufficient amounts of time into playing the game.
If there are any doubts mate, I think you should hold back until you are 100% sure you will do the club justice.
Saying that, it would be great to get you back into the game, as we seem to be losing a lot of managers recently.

| Tom,
I love the game and always have, the game and i go back to when i was 13 (im 29 in a few days). However, im very busy still and have to think of why i quit last time. I was getting very frustrated by someone and im not sure i have lost that negativity about the game. If i do comeback i will probably do as will said, maybe take my time and build from scratch and see where i end up. I have to admit, it will probably be abroad. |

| Whatever you decide, just take your time with any decision.
Like I said, it would be great to see you back in the game.
And it is great to see you back on here again. |

Nice post Will. Ross, would love to see you back in the game, feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. Will's right in that a fair amount has changed over the past year, one of the great things about this game is that Paul is continually making improvements. The game still has it's issues though of course. Just to clarify Will's comment on personality managed clubs, yes they are managed AI managers like Mancini which is great and definitely an improvement over unmanaged clubs. Each personality manager has different characteristics which makes them more difficult to trade with. These clubs are available to real life managers. Personally I'd love to see you take over Man City - they're still very tough to beat and they actually won the Premiership last season! Either way just make the right decision for you. |

| I dont think they'd let Ross back in the door at Eastlands would they? After the Cahill for Milner incident?! lol
Think there was some toffee tinted glasses there! (unless of course there was more to the deal that I don't know about...in which case I'll shut my oversized cakehole!)

| Rich,
Ive always got my toffee tinted glasses on mate! I thought i brought some very good player into eastlands, and i will certainly take credit for them winning the league!
Im swaying more towards managing abroad but have to admit i have a real thing with managin in england as thats where my knowledge base has always been.
Dan, thanks for the heads up, i have to admit City would interest me, im going to mail paul and see what i can come up with, im pretty sure im going to return.
I personally think it could be down to Juventus or Man City.

| Ross, I think you'll be dissapointed by the City side thats there at the moment.
No Cahill, no Elano, No Arteta,
Basically, you've got Hart, Richards, Baines, Barry, Deco & Heskey.
Thats it. That your lot. Thanks for coming.
And you can take all the credit you want for winning the title. It is kind of like saying that Brian Clough was responsible for the great Leeds side!
Your 44 days at Eastlands make Clough look like Shankley. Turned up, upset the dressing room, sold their best players, bought a load of tripe and buggered off! lol
Welcome back mate, I knew you'd miss this place too much eventually. :-)

| Ross, why not try your luck with my old club Lazio.
Still some decent players there and a great infrastructure, also they SHOULD have a shedload of cash.
Good to hear you are thinking about a return. |

Stu has mentioned Lazio to me, i have to admit, managing abroad this time is tempting me.
Hope your well mate? |

| Ooh, Adam Johnson's just got to City
And Leighton Baines left
Spurs have Defoe, Dawson, Bentley
I tend to agree with Will actually. Take a Hull or another Championship club. Build your own side from scratch maybe |

So far nothing back...... No worries. Paul isn't the best on emails I'm afraid, I gave up years ago. I'd strongly advise giving him a quick call and asking him if it's a convenient time to discuss rejoining the game and what your options might be. I'm sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction as to which clubs are available and which would be best for you. He may even be able to fastrack a turn out to you this week! |
