So, Man City have decided to replace him with Roberto Mancini.

Possibly a positive move, as Mancini had gotten used to dealing with players who have inflated ego's during his tenure as Inter manager and got the best out of them.

Hughes was always going to be walking a tightrope after the money that the club have spent in search of buying success.

I am just surprised that Benitez is still in work given his abject failure this season at Anfield Red-Sox Soccer Franchise, bet he is next to go.

well to be honest... iafter Rafa signed his 5milion pound per year for 5 years deal... it would cost Liverpool 20million! to sack Rafa so until they get a intrested from the East..... Rafa is staying lol.

Oh well,

mid table mediocrity for 'de pool' for another couple of seasons untill the Yanks can afford to write off £10M, and Benitez can realise his dream of serving Paella. Laughing

Yep Rafa is going nowhere! Reports are saying that Kolo Toure was told Hughes was sacked and left to tell the players, possibly before the game. Utter disgrace butnot surprised!

Mark Hughes will be back, and is a man and manager of integrity.

Also IMO a potentialy great long term manager of a medium sized club such as Blackburn, he would be welcomed back there with open arms.

Or if he wanted a real challenge he could walk into Southampton and now that they have thier financial situation sorted out, as a long term project lead them back to the Premiership and keep them there.

It is a disgusting the way that todays news was broken to him, one of the board may have as well done it by text first thing this morning.

Agreed, will walk into another nice premiership job soon enough, and the way they've done it is poor. Saying that, his record this season is poor when you look at the money he's spent, the players he's brought in!! Its great some pundits, saying he's only lost twice, but he hasn't won enough yet either, and its not like they had a slow start and are getting better, if anything its the other way round.

How many of Hughes' signings so far have impressed?? Not many IMO. Although you can throw the 'not settled, too early argument in there and that's fair enough. But I personally didnt see many signs that he would suddenly improve by 20-25% which is whats needed.

I think, a bit like the former manager at Meadow Lane, it was inevitable, it was just a matter of when not if.

In the end Hughes comes out of it looking good, so not all bad for Sparky. BIG pay day and all Wink
