TRANSFERS:

The transfer window is now open. In the second round you may have up to two players from any nation in each position in your team. Bear that in mind when replacing players who have been elimated from the competition. This will increase throughout the rounds, so in the QF you may have three in each position from the remaining nations.

The key is to pick players based on who you think will reach the semi-finals in order to get the most points possible, as teams who reach the semi-finals are guaranteed another game. However, you have just 5 transfers to use throughout the remainder of the World Cup.

Also, I'm not sure if the above is strictly correct about transfers (although I'm happy to be proved wrong). I think you can have three players in any position going forward from now. Here is what the fsports site says and I can't see anything about only having 2 players from one team in each position:

yes well thats what it says, although it wouldnt let me have three dutch defenders so how come that is you think?

Not sure what the real answer is. Maybe I'll give it a go when I get round to doing my transfers. Not sure why you'd want three Dutch defenders though!

plus midfielders arnt worth replacing in that dream team cos they dont score as many points as defence or attack. i mean, cristiano ronaldo has a few but he should be down as a forward anyway.

could be worth saving your transfers until the semi's actually dan. i mean, you're guaranteed an extra game with any team at that point, as long as you dont get many knocked out between now and the QFs it could be a clever tactic. a guarantee of having 5 players in the third place or final games isnt a bad idea!
