A short preview this week .......
Barcelona A real acid test fixture against Atletico who demolished Barca earlier in the season 4-2. The game will be a good measure to see if Barca have improved since the the changes that were made at the start of the season. Unfortunately the club talisman, top scorer and attacking focal point, Karim Benzema is out injured. With back up Ciro Immobile still struggling to get up to speed after an injury of his own another solution had to be found. Left winger Serge Gnabry fills the CF gap this week with Oyarzabal coming in to replace him. It'll be a different dynamic in attack but I'm not sure anyone can replace King Karim. The biggest battle will be between Dybala and Brozovic. Dybala has been in imperious form for Ben's men and Brozovic will have his work cut out trying to contain him. Over the next few weeks the final pieces of the puzzle will be built into the starting 11 with Edmond Tapsoba and David De Gea stepping up.This will inevitably mean a couple of departures to ensure players get first team football.
Nacional Last week it was a double header of Santos and Defensor and this week it's Penarol another of Uruguay's big four. The big games keep coming and hopefully the team are resilient enough to keep going. No injury worries and no changes to the starting 11 are proving useful and the benefits of consistency are really starting to pay off ..... I hope. There are 3 changes on the bench as Agustin Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez and Gonzalo Montiel get closer to competing for a first team berth.
Hannover Injuries have hit the Hannover dressing room hard with star man Julian Brandt out as well as striker Gregoritsch. Stepping in are former Germany U21 captain Arne Maier to cover for Brandt and Alexander Isak to add to the attack. Hopefully the squad is strong enough to get through the current injury crisis. A couple more additions are vital in the long run.
Rennes More of the same at Rennes. A change of tactics to WBK to try and utilise the assets available.
