| Chris Nkunku joins Genk from Botafogo for £30millions. Ilaix Moriba joins Schalke from Barcelona for £22.5millions. NDombele leaves Newcastle for Barcelona for £16millions. Schalke sell Dilrosun to Twente for £10millions. Pablo Sarabia leavs Nacional heading for Sevilla in exchange for £10millions. Daramy joins Twente for £9millions from Hannover. Independente win the race to sign Ajax's Lisandro Martinez for a bargain £2millions plus an £8millions signonfee.
Quite a few players were released this week and when I checked the coding I noticed that their contracts were not being paid off upon release. The error was corrected and from now on releasing a player will include paying off his contract...

Chelsea stay top despite being beaten at home by Villa in what was a bizarre game with an amazing scoreline. But it can all change next week with just three points and three goal difference separating the top five... What a title race this is going to be, going right down to the wire for sure. Charlton need to stay in touch following their next two games, City and Arsenal. Two really tough opponents. Good win this week after an early scare. This Kane fella is a decent CF isn't he? Not a bad debut. |

Still fairly close but Nantes have their noses in front as usual... A good win for Nantes this week, still just the two points dropped this season so far and yet still can't quite shake off the challenge from PSG and Etienne. Two strong sides who I'm sure will go the distance too. |

Santos 31 +20 Champions Botafogo 25 +20 Fluminense 22 +13
Flu's first defeat in the last six games sees Santos do the double over Flu and put themselves into a commanding lead. Santos boss is hoping for a draw next week when Flu travel to Botafogo... Whilst it is disappointing to lose such an important game, especially at home, the game this week is a great example of where both Flu and Santos are at. Santos have been through a transition in previous seasons and have now put together a very good, young side that will take some beating. Flu on the other hand are still trying to fine tune and it isn't quite clicking just yet. I feel like all the ingredients are right but the recipe still needs a little work. When you have the majority of the Brazilian squad, who are currently favourites for Qatar 2022, it suggests that something can be worked out hopefully! Maybe Flu need to go down the dark road of paying £150,000 after a few reviews rather than remaining strict and holding some top players back..... |

| After two weeks of reviewing the changes I made to the tactical weightings a few weeks back I have made a few tweaks...
HOW DEFENSIVE/OFFENSIVE IS MY TACTICAL FORMATION ? For this topic the player's basic skills are organised into three groups, group one is Offensive skills = shooting and volleying, group two is Defensive skills = tackling and heading and group three is unaffected skills = quickness, agility, control, passing-short, passing-long and knowledge. The following table shows the bonuses applied to each of the qualifying skills for each of the tactical formations. The following table also shows how each system affects a player's stamina retention.
⦁ ALL PEP offensive +0.3 defensive -0.3 stamina -0.3 ⦁ SRM FLY offensive +0.3 defensive -0.3 stamina -0.3 ⦁ EXT WIN offensive +0.2 defensive -0.2 stamina -0.2 ⦁ SAM WAV offensive +0.2 defensive -0.2 stamina -0.2 ⦁ ATT FAS offensive +0.1 defensive -0.1 stamina -0.1 ⦁ WBK ISF offensive +0.1 defensive -0.1 stamina -0.1 ⦁ TIC MIG offensive +0.1 defensive -0.1 stamina -0.1 ⦁ FRE TOT offensive 0 defensive 0 stamina 0 ( unaffected ) ⦁ MIX SLO offensive -0.1 defensive +0.1 stamina +0.1 ⦁ WHV SEX offensive -0.1 defensive +0.1 stamina +0.1 ⦁ DEF CAT offensive -0.2 defensive +0.2 stamina +0.2 ⦁ DOM LON offensive -0.2 defensive +0.2 stamina +0.2 ⦁ SWE offensive -0.3 defensive +0.3 stamina +0.3 ⦁ BUS offensive -0.5 defensive +0.5 stamina +0.5
The main change is to Parking The Bus which will make it more effective in defence but less effective in attack and it will now use less more stamina as well. A secondary change to Flying Wingers to make it more attacking orientated.
I will do another review in two weeks to see how its doing...

| Interesting. So, the more attacking tactics use less stamina than defensive? Have I read that right? Would have thought it to be the other way around... |

I think it is the other way round, you lose 0.3 stamina with PEP more than TOT whereas Cat gains 0.2 stamina. |

It looks evenly balanced to me. +3 att or def = -3 st +2 att or def = -2 st etc |

It looks evenly balanced to me. +3 att or def = -3 st +2 att or def = -2 st etc Dont see what you mean there Dave. It's the 'bus' comment that confused me - saying that it's 'using more stamina now' does that mean the stamina used to be more than +0.5 then paul? |

I will do another review in two weeks to see how its doing... Really interesting tbh, esp as -0.3 could mean 8 and not 9 here for tackling, heading etc for some of the tactics - whereas +0.3 on someone who is 9 means nothing here. Something really to consider then. |
