| That will do nicely at Chelsea , will be interesting to read the match report up to the sending off , proved a pivotal moment in the game come the end |

| Argentina
Boca 18 +20 Argentinos 16 +15 Champions River Plate 15 +12 Estudiantes 15 +11 Independente 12 +9
Estudiantes drop two places following their narrow defeat at Independente but Boca march on at the top with a steady victory at Lanus, but it's still very close and still anybody's title...

| Brazil
Santos 16 +12 Champions Botafogo 13 +7 Sao Paulo 13 +6 Vasco 13 +3 Flamengo 10 +8 Fluminense 10 +7
Narrow away wins for the leaders Santos and the chasing teams of Botafogo and Sao Paulo with vasco being slightly more convincing with a good home win keeps the status quo similar, but eight goals for Fluminese must have the leading group looking over their shoulders with a worried look...

| Premiership
Chelsea 15 +6 Watford 13 +11 Champions Man City 13 +6 Arsenal 13 +5 Charlton 10 +2
An important win for the leaders keeps them top of the table for another week but there are some very good teams hot on their heels and they cannot afford to slip up... |

| Championship
Soton 18 +12 Palace 16 +9 Banstead 14 +4 ------ Norwich 13 +5 Burnley 10 +2
Six wins on the bounce for the leaders as they look to climb back up to the top flight and likewise with Palace looking much improved over last season... |

| France
Nantes 16 +13 Champions Paris 15 +12 Etienne 13 +8 Monaco 9 +1
A narrow home defeat to Paris for Etienne dropped them two places down to third as both Paris and the Champions Nantes moved above them with Nantes going back into their more accustomed top spot... |

| Germany
Schalke 14 +8 Champions Berlin 13 +9 Gladbach 13 +4 Dortmund 11 +4 Karlsruhe 10 +5
The current title holders Schalke went back to the top of the table following a fine away draw for last week's leaders Berlin at Bayern, still it means Berlin have made their best start to the season for many seasons...

| Italy
AC Milan 18 +16 Inter Milan 16 +15 Champions Juventus 12 +2
There are five clubs with nine points which suggests a lot of improving needs to be done by those clubs if they are to prevent the top three breaking away... |

| Scotland
Celtic 13 +10 Champions Falkirk 13 +9 Aberdeen 13 +4 Motherwell 13 +0
Looks like goal difference will be crucial this season in Scotland with Celtic moving back to the top this week as they leap above last week's leaders Falkirk on goal difference after a comfortable win at struggling Livingston... |

| Spain
Atletico 18 +22 Valencia 18 +13 Real Madrid 16 +18 Real Betis 15 +10
First dropped points for Real Madrid, albeit in Barcelona, allowed Valencia to go above them in the table but it is still too close to see a clear favorite... |

Well played Gaz, will be interesting to see how the match played out like you say but to be fair you still have to do the business after your opponents go down to 10 which you did, so deserved win in the end. A credit to you how you have got Chelsea up amongst the favourites again since coming back to the game. You've done a great job. Charlton scratching around trying to find some consistency and some identity following recent tactical changes, hopefully both match reports will show some encouragement at least. Going through transition still I guess after years of FAS. |

Two good wins for Nantes this week, seem fairly soild and secure in what they are doing and aiming for. Really pleased with them so far this season. Competition is going to be a lot harder this season as a few teams have improved massively so a good start has been imperative. |

Flu continue to prove a real Jekyll and Hyde side. If it all clicks then it works, which tends to be at home. Away seems to be a different story but then I think that is just the PEB tactic. A more solid and resilient tactic is needed for the tough away games of which there will be plenty this season in another much improved and tough league. |

| Fairly happy with Schalke this week. Be interesting to see how they scored 5 in europe playing SLA! In the league, SLA seems to be effective when not winning, but as soon as a goal is scored, it switches to being a bit more passive. If the opponents get back into the game, SLA switches back on again... It's my only problem with SLO/SLA...geoff at man city seems to get more than 1 goal ahead though - I might have to spy on a few of his matches to see how he does it! |

| Transfers
Tottenham have been very busy this week as they let Leroy Sane join Barcelona in a swap deal for Eric Garcia and Bryan Gil then bringing in Albert Lokonga for £65millions from Anderlecht. Santos sold the promising Matheus Fellipe to West Brom for £45millions. Plymouth were also busy as they bought Romelo Lukaku from Atletico for a bargain £10millions.
There were plenty more deals this week all detailed on the TP special action report. |

| Thanks pal, appreciated.
Must say, whilst myself and maybe a couple of other managers can take spells away from the game and come back to it, you aren’t afforded that luxury. Your dedication and efforts week after week are much appreciated.
Do you still get as much enjoyment from the game as always? |

| Tom,
I'm always amazed that there are so many people who enjoy playing the game almost as much as I enjoy running it, so absolutely yes. |

| I found some old turnsheets from around 22 years ago whilst 'tidying' up as we were moving, skills only went upto 4, Ciriaco Sforza was the star of my Internazionale side along with Zamorano. First ever team I managed was Arbroath in Scotland division 3 in season 2 of the game. Been through some teams since taking in most countries I would say! Still as engrossing as ever!
Will always have a soft spot for Novorizontino in Brazil who led me to my first trophy in the game.
Real have been my most successful side averaging a trophy a season since taking over. |
