Wages are obscene as are transfer fee's. I'm a United fan but I go and watch lower league football as much as I can as you know the money you fork out is needed to keep the clubs going.

Good on you Rich, I'm the same, haven't been to the Etihad for a couple of seasons now cos I feel like my money is better spent at one of the lower league clubs. They certainly need it especially in the non-league. Truro survive on gates of around 500 somehow and things don't get much better at league clubs like Plymouth and Bristol City. |

I fully agree. I've not been to Villa Park (or any of my now local Premier League and EFL oppostion) in years. I, usually, go to Consett AFC, where they get crowds of about 400. Saturday I went to watch Newcastle University v Chester-le-Street in the Northern League 2, with a "crowd" of 60. A really enjoyable game, even included an ex Zambia u20 international who is a student at the Uni.

Wow, I've watched them quite a few times. Remember them winning the league.

We won the first division while I was there and made the FA Cup first round.

If my memory serves me right, that was in the eighties, in the days when the northern league was a real quality league. I might well of seen you play.

I go watch Chelsea 25-30 games a season and I’m certainly not being pushed out by some of our Johnny come lately supporters, also go and watch my local team Poole Town whenever I’m not at Chelsea and it’s thoroughly enjoyable having a beer whilst watching the game
