Season 29 Week 22 processing...

Welcome to week 22 and I see from the order sheets that some of you have gone into full bore rebuilding mode prior to the new season, which is just around the corner. Some of the leagues are already decided like Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Russia and Spain but others have a lot to play for still in leagues like Ireland, Italy, Poland, Scotland and America so good luck to everybody who still needs it.

The reset has finished and data entry is underway...

Busy week this one with only Real Madrid not sending an order sheet...

Watford - with the pressure off, a tactic change this week to see if can further improve fortunes! With infrastructure and trimming squad also taking focus to ensure stability for Watford. 

Genk - Couple a player sales on the cards, to boost funds to help develop the stadium and facilities now the team is playing at a higher level and need to keep attracting big names to the club! 

Botafogo - tough week last week, dropped some points. Which puts level with Santos and behind on Goal difference. So a result needs to hopefully clinch 2nd place! Again, more infrastructure, focusing on training centre.

Big week for Schalke as they try to become 'invincible' (in the league anyway).
Really crept up on me this one, but I guess you rarely get the chance to actually do it...
Should be a 'home' banker and avoided reducing my win bonus, so there are no excuses!

Building towards a tactical change for next season, and squad is pretty much sorted out now - which is almost disappointing as I'll miss doing major deals. Still, never say never!

Real busy, the Friendly games have kicked off...

Biggest week of the season for Plymouth - sorted out the squad so should be no excuses...

Reserves, Youths and Schoolboy games have kicked off, so the League games should be ready to kickoff at 1000 hours Wednesday morning...

Game of the week is probably Lazio's tussle with Ancona in Rome where defeats for Ancona away at Inter Milan by a single goal and away at AC Milan by a single goal has allowed Lazio to leapfrog over Ancona into top spot, and as a result Ancona must now beat Lazio on their own ground, something nobody else has accomplished this season in the league although Napoli did beat Lazio in Rome in the cup quarter-final on week 17, and to add to the difficulty Lazio arent conceding many goals, just 2 in their last six league games, so it's a tough ask. Both sides will be at full strength so it's bound to be a scorcher of a match and one i'm looking forward to watching progress. Good luck to both managers.

Ancona have never won the league but did finish as runners-up in season 22 under Jamie Tyler and again last season with Boots as the manager. Lazio have won the title once before back in season 16 when Steve Blackman was the manager.

League games will kickoff at 1000 hours Wednesday morning...

This is not something the system keeps track off at the moment but from memory the Premier Division Invincibles, going all 22 games without losing, definitely includes Ajax, Gornik, Red Star Belgrade and Boca and maybe Tom's Nantes and Rob's Inter Milan.

I'm writing a module to track and record this sort of thing for going forward because it is a rare occurence.

Boca I’m pretty sure were as well as holding League, Cup, Libertadores and World Club Cup at the same time I think. Inter I think were too. And Barcelona have a game to go for an unbeaten League season.

Just checked back and didn't realise but Nantes are unbeaten in the league for nearly three years.  Three 'invincibles' seasons in a row?

Season 28  Won 21  Drew 1
Season 29  Won 20  Drew 1

Can they make it three?  One more game to avoid defeat to do it!!

Still delighted to add another European trophy to the Nantes cabinet too, what a side!  Seems to be working quite well there....

Maybe 'invincibles' is the wrong word. I'm talking about P22 W22 D0 L0. Well, whatever it's called, that's whatI'm going for...

For sure Invincibles is an unbeaten record as for winning all 22 games we'll need a new title...
