I am interested to know, how this season's chelsea team would or could be set up in the game, tactically. They are consistently playing this team :
CL Cahill
CC Luiz
CR Azpiliceuta
LK Alonso
RK Moses
AL Matic
AR Kante
LW Hazard
RW Pedro
CF Costa
Well, Hazard and Pedro playing more as free role players in the channels than actual wingers, but I don't really see how they could be deployed as such either unless they were deployed with a FRA instruction as wingers or unless they were played as strikers, using the ISF tactic. Maybe ISF would be the one for them, though i'm not sure if that tactic fits their defensive/defensive midfield shape.
So, I just wondered what everyone else thinks what would be the best tactic for this team and also Chelsea's RL (current) dominance with it. Would be interesting to know Paul's thoughts especially cos I'm not 100% sure if there is a tactical model that suits it, unless the above that I mentioned would work well enough?
Well, just thought it to be an interesting talking point, cos it's been a very effective approach for them, Pedro and Hazard both being able to have free roles just behind Costa with them having two defensive midfielders behind them, and even supporting width from Moses and Alonso. The interesting thing for me is that they've gained a midfielder without compromising their defence despite being a man short there.
Did Conte use this tactical approach with Juventus? (Rob, you'd probably know!).
