| Welcome to week 24, the last week of the pre-season, we have the English playoff finals this week as well as tours, friendlies and challenge cups to help get your players skilled back up and ready for the big kickoff.
It's a bank holiday on monday but I can still do the reset and then data entry should start as normal on tuesday. |

| Playoff results...
Everton 2 Westham 4 West Brom 1 Leeds 2 Coventry 2 Reading 2 aet pens 4-3
So reality managed Westham are back in the Premiership and maybe with a new manager, fingers crossed he will start up next week. Leeds come up to the Championship and unmanaged Coventry climb up to League One, mostly on the back of some superb goal keeping from Al Habsi, who is 34 now but still going strong. |

| Finances should be all sorted now but if I have missed anything just let me know as I have all the printouts for last season and can easily double check things. |

| another late deal that just beats the transfer deadline is a swap deal involving Steven Defour who joins Burnley from Alkmaar in exchange for Ricky Alvarez as both clubs benefit from a sensible swap deal. |

| Am I right in thinking that the squad effectiveness figure is just a guide for what it would be if you kept the same team the following week?
Is it calculated for that week once the teams have been input?
Thanks |

| Hi Paul,
I'm guessing the 'Charity Cup' type games for people are to be played in Week 1? I think we've all been given a scout of Benfica instead of the relevant opponent? Exactly the same as last season - intrigued to know why it's Benfica? No need to send relevant Scouts so far as I'm concerned - just thought you should know, there's obviously a little gremlin in there...
Also, the Interpreter problem is back! (ie, Pato is moaning). %age is down to 25% (from 125%).

Thanks yes thats right. It is calculated at kickoff time for each match you play. The figure you see on the turns is the figure at the time of the printout. |

Andy. Found an issue with interpreters being automatically handled by assistant managers wrongly, fixed it, under the old system you only had to pay interpreters a max of 10,000 to get 100% effectiveness, and assistant managers were still using the old system, they are now using the new more costly system which has been in pkace for a couple of seasons now, which scales depending on how many non-speakers you have. |

| The English Charity Shield and all the Super Cups are played week one. They are all league winner vs cup winner type games.
it's always Benfica cos the portuguese super cup is played last of all and therefore is the last match to be setup in memory and benfica are the league champs most years so they regularly appear in that slot, but i have to rewrite this bit of code cos it shouldnt be using the last competition it should be using the relevant competition, i'll get there. |

That is as high as the handicaps can go, cant turn it up any more. And it now includes players who dont play anywhere, financial security and attitude one players who are not being treated as expected. Don't forget paying attitude one players £150,000 or more a week will change MOST of them into attitude two players and they will be happy to sit on the bench for that sort of money each week, they wont happily play in the reserves though. So you could have 18 attitude one players happily toiling away in your squad of 25. Most 99s and 97s are attitude one but some revert to attitude nine when they pass 30 years of age. |

Are attitude 1 players satisfied with playing a cup game instead of a league game? Also, if said players are satisfied with a cup game, will they moan if they also play in the reserves that same week? |
