It was a weird game.
The atmosphere was electric, shoving the away fans in the corner and havingl our lot behind the goal at each end made a massive differnce
We came out and got at forest and largely through jaimie ward didn't let them settle.first goal was all about tempo and keeping the ball alive.
Then after that frenetic start the game settled and forest pinned us back with some good possession football. Largely centering around greening and culminating in pattison trying to get at wisdom.
Then we just hit them on the counter, and looking back we didn't have to do too much, nicely worked from Our point of view but forest just didn't work hard enough off the ball to stop us.
Second half the game was up as soon as Russell rifled that Beauty in. After that it was a mixture of keep ball, plays and see how we can find new ways of taking the piss. Honestly think a forest goal would have been cheered lol.
Footballs funny though, while yesterday was an amazing day for a derby fan, the result doesn't really change a great deal. We're still embedded firmly in the playoffs, forest still are out of form and without half a first team
Playoffs is still more than a shout for them as while the likes of Wigan, Ipswich, reading and Brighton have caught them with 24 points to play for and about 3 points separating the lot anything can happen.
Brighton losing at home to Ipswich says it all in this league. If forest scrape in and we end up playing them the game yesturday will mean sweet f a in comparison.
Am hoping it doesn't come to that
