| Jarvis and Oxlade-Chamberlain have moved to Arsenal
whilst Carlos Tevez has joined Charlton... what a good signing this could be. |

| Got to be honest I think phils dropped a big one there
If the games Master is purring over the signing then if I was the selling party I'd be really worried
I got concerned last week when paul queried how I was going to keep everyone happy |

| I'll start in the Bundesliga where Hertha Berlin lead the table by five points from Stuttgart who are themselves a point above both Schalke and Bayern Munich.
A two goal winning margin for Berlin keeps them out in front with both goals coming from Leandro Romagnoli in what was an excellent week for the new look side, what with Stuttgart losing, bayern only drawing and Schalke playing catchup, it looks like being a very interesting and exciting season in germany this year.
Cologne 3 Bayern 3
Bremen 0 Berlin 2
Stuttgart 1 Gladbach 2
Dortmund 1 Schalke 2
Leverkusen 4 Dusseldorf 0
Frankfurt 2 Hamburg 0 |

| Spain is looking increasingly more competitve week by week and managers will have to be on their toes from now on. A great historic win for Betis saw them get the better of Real Madrid for the first time in the clubs history, and they moved up to eighth place as a result. But Barcelona lead the table by a massive five points from Real who are a further point above Valencia.
Real Betis 3 Real Madrid 2
Valencia 0 Barcelona 2 a superb win for Matt's team
Espanol 4 Deportivo 2
Villareal 3 Sociedad 4
Sevilla 0 Celta 0
Bilbao 0 Atletico 0 |

| I feel sick.... just read all of that piece by piece over my lunch.... my nerves are frayed, my hearts pounding and I was begging for the final whistle.
What a game. Proud of the lads...sounds like they gave there all.
Gutted. |

| Nantes lead a very exciting title chase in France but just by one point from Lille who are themselves one point above Paris St Germain with Etienne only two points back in fourth, so its getting very exciting here as well.
Etienne 4 Marseille 4
Auxerre 1 Bordeaux 2
Toulouse 1 Lille 2
Lyon 0 Paris 0 a good result for Lyon who remain in sixth
Lens 0 Cannes 0
Monaco 1 Nantes 2 |

| Despite the narrow defeat it is Newcastle who sit proudly atop the Premiership again this week, but now just two points above second placed Fulham who are themselves just one point above Arsenal. The title race would appear to be between these three sides atm with Plymouth struggling for goals back in fourth a further four points adrift and current Champions Manchester City seemingly out of it already back in eighth already eleven points off the pace.
Arsenal 3 Newcastle 2 game of the season so far.
Fulham 4 Westham 0
Birmingham 2 Man United 1 an excellent win that augers well for the future
Blackburn 3 Villa 2
Plymouth 1 Man City 0
Everton 2 Reading 1 |

| League One has Liverpool running away with first place and they are now a massive seven points above unmanaged Coventry and ten points above third placed Sheffield United. I remember when Coventry were one of the top sides and managed by Paul Good, its strange to see them struggling now.
Wednesday 1 Ipswich 0
Liverpool 2 Sheff Utd 0
Luton 0 Coventry 0
Wolves 3 Burnley 0
Derby 1 Wimbledon 1
Blackpool 3 QPR 2
Blackpool made the move up the table into the playoff places where they belong and even though they are currently eight points off second spot i can see them challenging for that second spot in the not too distant future, especially now that Landon Donovan seems to hit some form. |

| In Brazil it is Zico's Sao Paulo who lead the way by three points from my own Santos who had a lucky win this unmanaged Cruzeiro and Corinthians back in third and fourth.
Santos 2 Gremio 1
Flamengo 0 Sao Paulo 0 a good battling result for Matt's feeder club
Corinthians 3 Palmeiras 2
Portuguesa 0 Cruzeiro 0
Botafogo 3 Sao Joao 2
Vasco 3 Fluminense 0 |

| and now to Holland where Ajax lead the table by three points from Heerenveen who are just a point above Twente and fast improving Feyenoord. So not a lot in it here either.
Groningen 2 PSV 1
Heerenveen 3 Alkmaar 0
Roda 1 Breda 0
Rotterdam 0 Ajax 2
Feyenoord 2 Sittard 0
Vitesse 2 Twente 1 |

Paul is there a reason for this, know I set up quite negatively this week but is it just that I am coming against good defences and good keepers or is there a more fundamental problem? I really feel I should be scoring more with the talent I have available...? |

| and last but not least off to Italy where AC Milan lead the table after they demolished Fiorentina but their lead is very slender, just a single point above arch rivals Inter who are only a point above Cagliari and Ancona, the two surprise sides of the season so far.
Parma 1 Juventus 1
Lazio 1 Sampdoria 3
Atalanta 1 Cagliari 3
Ancona 2 Napoli 1
Inter Milan 2 Roma 0
AC Milan 5 Fiorentina 1
disappointing result for Roma this week on top of last weeks reverse as well, but they have a good side and i'm sure they will bounce back next week at home to Fiorentina whose morale must be on rock bottom right now. |

| Quote from Manchester City manager Geoff Fields on his Champions...
".... we'll be lucky to stay up this season unless I can find a strikeforce from somewhere, shame Sergio Aguero was just too expensive, but maybe I made a big mistake there in not going into debt to get him..." |
